lets say i'm making biodiesel but do not have a supplier to run exclusively bio, sometimes i need to fillup on #2. then i call jody and order a chip, how will this effect my trucks performance? or better yet is this why i want a flip chip instead of a programmmer, have him burn a special bio setting. I pretty committed to bio hope you can help.

Bio burns just as well as #2 from what i understand. Good question for Jody too. More power to ya on the bio diesel usage. I want to start running some myself....it's just tought to get in NH.

I got some Bio in my truck on the last fill up I went 50/50 because I wasnt sure if or how it would work. So far what I have noticed is that the motor runs alot quietier and its about $.10 cents cheaper a gal. then dino diesel so I like it so far about 180 miles on this tank. Can you run straight biodiesel or should you mix it like I did?
i think that ford says it is ok to fun up to 5% bio diesel in our trucks because bio can cause some gaskets and or fuel lines to fail because certain types of compounds break down with bio faster than with dino, i remember reading here that many run 100% bio with no issues.
if bio was cheaper than dino in my area, i would run straight bio. last time i checked it was almost $1 a gallon more here in PA. i currently run 5% bio
if i find the link to the ford page i'll post it. someone else here may have it.
I believe u can run straight B100(?) if u want too...correct me if i'm wrong
u bio guys.

yeah you can run B100. i do and my engine runs great with no problems so far. i did try b20 first to see how it did, and now run B100 as much as posible.
You can run straight B100 with no problems. Our trucks don't use the older style rubber gaskets in the fuel lines like trucks pre-1994 that were eaten apart from bio.
Ford only recommends up to B5 to cover their own hind cheeks. Bio is highly corrosive compared to dino diesel, and if you have a problem with your fuel system to begin with, bio will more than likely find it for you.
Running any variant of bio or bio mix WILL clean your tank out. Be prepared to change your fuel filter the first 2 times rather early. After a little while, your fuel tank will be squeaky clean.
The BTU difference in bio-vs-dino diesel is so insignificant that you won't notice a difference in power. It would be hard to even show a difference on a dyno.
Bio will not increase your mileage. If your mileage drops, your fuel filter might be excessively dirty. You can thank bio for cleaning your tank out and causing that.
You don't need different tunes on your chip to run bio. It will run the same except for a quieter engine and a better smelling exhaust.
Bio will gel in cold weather, so you need to run a mix. It's ok to switch from B100 to any other mix or straight dino diesel at any time.
I ran bio for a year in my truck before moving. Now it's unavailable where I live and cost prohibitive for me to drive to fill up (about 30 minutes one way). During the time I ran bio, I had zero change in fuel mileage and a quieter engine. My first fuel filter I changed after the switch came after 6,000 miles and it was filthy. Second filter change came at 9,000 miles after the previous filter change. After that I was on 15K mile intervals for fuel filter changes. I ran different blends of bio ranging from B5 to B100. A few times when traveling I filled up with dino because bio was simply unavailable. Switching over had no negative effects. After a year I dropped my tank and had zero sludge or grime in my tank, and the pickup screen was completely clean. I highly recommend running bio, and as soon as a station starts selling it close to my house, I'll be running that stuff full time. Hope this helps.
Bio has been great for me as well.
I started with b-20 and quickly moved to b-100.
The engine is much quieter. Much more effective than the HPX mod.
Even 1-2 gallons of bio a tank will give you great results. and no need for Additives!
When the sulfer is completely removed Bio will be a great way to reintroduce lubricant to the fuel.
I had the ccv dumping right under the drivers side door, after changing to bio the smell is almost gone, and actually pleasant.
