Re: Help/Ideas

Well I wrote in about a week or so ago while on the road and took my 2004 CC SB 4wd 6.0L in this morning with just now 11K.

Initial report is it needs a new turbo; no problem they said they keep them in stock because they loose so many.

Also needs a new rear main seal, which is a new design so it won't leak anymore.

They also hinted that this might all be cause by the fact that I have an Aux. tank and am towing a 7000# TT...I hope they are joking...should I purchase the extended warrenty for another 7 years for 2500.00?

Or should I go to the Dodge dealer who has a 2004 crew 1ton SB 4wd with a 6 speed and 14K miles and look to trade?

Thats a loaded question . .

I think the dealer is pushing you in the wrong direction by telling you that. These trucks are made for towing and because you use it for that reason is no reason for the turbo or rear main to go out. The engine is warranted for 100k and they will fix it if it breaks so to trade isn't a good reason unless you want a differnt truck.

Well I drove the Dodge and its got its pluses but not what I want.

I like mine 6.0L, I just get mad at the fact I paid a whole lot of money I spent 10 years saving so i could have something I had hoped would be reliable and give me some piece of mind while out on the road away from home.

I hope that this will be its last major problem and I am seriously considering upping the warrenty prior to its expiration.

Its to bad the deal I keep getting to get a 2006 isn't a better deal...even with it I would have to come up with another 10K.

I agree with firesoutmatt and as long as your not exceeding GVWR this the fuel tank and TT is not a issue. I would also go to a different dealer if that's their troubleshooting skills.
