Dang, it's so easy anyone should be able to figger it out.
Just pick up the truck, shake gently, and it will fall on the ground.
heh.
Seriously, is it the complete pump that is 'embedded' into the block? or is it the rear half that maybe is spozta stay there, and you replace the 'front half' that has the impeller/seal/pulley, etc.

Ok everybody, as always when working in the garage it's not the hammer it's the size of the hammer. got that dang water pump out but not sure if it was even the problem but after replacing the thermostat and fan clutch there aren't many places left to go. I thought about picking the truck up and shaking it out like suggested but being old and haveing a bad back and getting low on pain pills didn't think that was a good option.

over heating after about 20 miles turn the air off and it went back to noraml but after shuting down the tank felled up and started come out the cap which is new from Ford, just sat idling in the garage with air on for fifiteen minute no problem but I did try putting some white grease on the seal in the cap. on to another road trail
