Awnings

I would like to know, what is the best cleaner for the underside of an awning that has been rolled up for 5 years. Lots of black and just down right ugly.

Try one cup of bleach, one cup dish washing soap and one gal of hot water. Mix in a pump up sprayer ( like you use in the yard for fertilizer, incecticide, etc.) and spray on the awning. Let it soak for 15 - 30 minutes. Scrub with a stiff nylon bristle brush, then rinse wall with water. Repeat a second time to get really tough stains.

If this does not remove stains, at least the bleach will kill any mold growing and stop it from getting worse.

Gunfighter1, let me know how this worked. I have some mold buildup in the vynal siding on my house and it worked well for that.

This is the suggested way right out of Trailer Life Magazine. Good call!
