Holley 885 Carb and Governor
I have a Holley 885 Carb with a speed governor on a 337 flathead. The governor has vacume lines that attach to the distributor. The governor is kicking in about 900-1200 rpm before I reach red line. Anyone know how to adjust the speed governor? Is the adjustment in the base of the distributor?

Yes it is, on some its the square plug with a vac line take off the line unscrew the
plug and you have to turn the motor over until the adjuster comes into view. I
think its 3/8. Turn clockwise to increase speed, I wouldnt go past 3000 rpms. I'll
tell you it will be a little boring because you will have to do this many times to get
it right, just turn it 1/2 at a time. This is a two person job, one watching for the
nut to come up and the other person turning the motor over by the fan.
good luck on your 337. sam
