Planned Weekend Mods

Definitely:

Install WW
Clean up Compressor housing (yellow/gold scaling)
Prime & Paint IC tubes
Find a piece of 4'' exhaust to upgrade the kwik... prime and paint as well
Paint side steps
Rework CCV Mod DIY Oil Trap
Find location to install the Frantz (its still on its way)

Possibly:

Install aux. reverse lights
Install aux. off-road headlights

Lets see what all I can accomplish before Monday rolls around....

Hmm. No mods for me this weekend. Just maintenance. Oily maintenance. Messy maintenance. Gotta do the front and rear diffs.

Next weekend - maybe the ATS housing, if I have enough time.

I accomplished all planned objectives except finding the piece of exhaust and painting the steps.

I am gonna hunt around more for that exhaust to find a better deal. And I think I am just gonna wire brush the steps.

Comments on Weekend-O-Mods:

WW:
Easy install. I have pulled the turbo several times in the past few weeks making this a fairly quick job.

WW effects... Sings like nobody's business when you get into the pedal and/or lock the TC. Made the exhaust sound a different, not sure how to describe the change except... its good.

IC Tubes: Primed and painted them International Harvester Red.

Wastegate:
Shortened the actuator rod by a few turns.

CCV oil trap:
added some papertowel stuffing to the existing copper mesh.

Then it began to rain like a big dog Sat. afternoon, and again Sun.
I had to cut short some of the planned mods... dang rain.

Check out my gallery for pics from this weekend.

Tightens wastegate, has some effect on over all boost level.

I like those red tubes too!

If i was u i would ditch that upper radiator hose in favor of the dual alternator hose that routes AROUND the serp belt. Makes changing the serp belt a snap.

I'm not usually a big fan of the painted tubes (there's something about raw or polished metal that just sits well with me), but I do like the red tubes. By the looks of your firewall, the truck is red too? Those tubes probably match pretty well.

Congrats on the rest of your work!!

yes i do think it is a red truck. this is one case where the red fits in, and looks great. the smoothed or painted compressor manifold looks great too.....

let me know how the boots hold up as far as blowing off the intercooler boots. i taped up my pipes so that there was no paint between the boot and pipe. looked like a slippery situation to me..

for me, i get to do my fuel system. dont know how long it will take. fun adventure. i also get to do my exhaust system and paint the splitter pipe for my stacks.

(ironic, that smiley with the vertical tail ONLY fits....)

This is a great site...

Thanks for the support.

I will try to post more pics tomorrow or the next day.

And yeah it is a red truck, and I do like the tubes!
