I have heard that you get petter MPG after running out of fuel (old thread)......with the sacrifice of some other internals though...

OK guys. I ran mine out and it was pure hell getting it to start! I only put 5 gallons in it, cycled the key about 10 times and spun it over forever before it lit off. Then it ran like crap for about 20 minutes.

Could it be the mileage (240K) that caused it to not start RIGHT up like you guys say it should? My MPG is where it should be. Or was it the fact that I only put 5 gallons in it then tried to restart it?
