Started hard starting when cold. But always starts if cranked 4/5 times, then off then crank again. Usually starts then on 4/5 cranks. But always starts. But starts great when hot.
Now seems needs more cranking when hot. Noticing also a fuel odor after turning it off after running when hot. Pretty strong, checked for leaks several times, got under truck no odor at all.
Tank pump is brand new, both high pressure pump, filter and bypass canister are only about 1 year old.
Only thing left I can think of is bad injectors. Weak springs etc. The vehicle has 410,000 miles on it, and just put 3rd engine in last Nov. But this is something just started about a month ago.
Are these the original injectors, reinstalled on each engine? If so, with 410K on them, they may indeed need a little help but I'm not so sure they are the source of your problem.
Have you checked for codes? Always a good place to start with EFI. Even if you're not getting a CEL (Check Engine Light) there can still be codes stored in the computer. If you don't know how to check them, read this:
