ok this sucks

i hate holidays. every year its one thing or another.

so last night my computer just about recieved a fatal wound from my shotgun. i kept getting kidded off of AOL 8.0 then after a while id restart the computer, and when i started up AOL, the whole computer froze everytime.

so i un-installed AOL8.0, cause i had back-up 5.0 still on my computer. right now i am running AOL 5.slow BECAUSE when i went to download and reinstall AOL8.0, it did the whole download thingy BUT when i went to finish the installation, it says "please insert your AOL disk" hey, i DONT HAVE AN AOL disk!!!!!

any ideas computer gurus ????

ALSO! the greatest thing happened today!----sarcasm i was playing on my 2003 yamaha grizzley 660 with the plow on it, and the 4wd quit working...

i snapped the right side axel right out of the hub..... great. but this is the same saide that a place replaced the cv boot, so i might be able to get it fixed for free. so i ran it to that dealership today. THEN then i got home i was untying my boots, when my dog came to greet me home... her skull smacked me in the lip, giving me a slightly swollen lip..... its gone away though now.

anyways, anyone have any ideas how to fix the AOL problem?

im about to download that spyware right now, in case i got a virus screwing up the computer

at least i got my "things happen in 3's" out of the way... 3 bad things in one week... time for the bar

Get rid of the AOL. I've always heard bad things about it.

Do you have simple AOL (you dont dial one of their numbers), or the full boat that you dial up to. My father, for some reason, still has aol. We have the cheap version. I refuse to put the aol program back on this computer. aol.com is good enough for me!

Loose AOL it's crap you're over paying for, get Netzero or something it's only 10 bucks for like the same thing, or I'd say just get cable.

AOL is a POS. Best move ever made was switching to Road Runner. It's fast and always works with no error messages or any of the b/s AOL puts you through. Plus it automatically signs in unless you choose for it to prompt you to login.

Get Juno, NetZero, or Earthlink.

http://www.earthlink.net/

If you get cable get Earthlink if you can. Earthlink is always available, no login mess unless you want it. No software to install. It works with whatever browser you want to use. It works with any email program. You can get rid of Internet Explorer and Outlook, so no more worries about your computer being taken over...

I use Earthlink over a Time Warner cable system, Mozilla, and Eudora.

I agree with everyone here, ditch the AOL. I was working on a computer that the person had AOL on, and AOL just mutilates the computer. It took me 3 hours to get their broadband working, remove aol, and remove all the extra crap that aol puts on the PC.

Lose the AOL. I don't care what you do, but lose AOL. Go to anybody else, dialup, cable, dsl, satellite, who cares, just take this one piece of advise, REMOVE AOHell from your computer.

if you do decide to ditch the AOL good luck! it took me three months to get them to quit charging me for it . i finally called the credit card company and they took care of it. when you call to cancel be prepared to stand your ground, they'll do anything to try to keep you signed up.
