VIN # history
I have been looking for the right deal for quite some tim now. I have been back and forth between an Excursion an a Crew cab. I now have a truck option to purchase that is a good deal but I would like to research the VIN. I thought I had seen earlier postings where someone could check VIN history. I would like to know more about this vehicle if someone could help.

When I was looking to buy my current truck, I wrote down the VIN and went to see a service writer at the local Ford dealership. He punched the VIN into the computer and printed out the OASIS (warranty work history) report for me for no charge. My truck had never been to a dealer for warranty work.

Ford can pull an Oasis report, Carfax will show the rest.
Just remember there are limits, and these reports might not show everything that has been done to the vehicle. But it should at least report the major stuff such as accidents, theft recovery, etc.
