thanks to the wonders of science , my favorite paint ( tremclad ) now dries in 15 minutes, well the '63 fairlane ( with the FE Engine ) should have the reconstructed floor pan repair done by the weekend, and i'm thinking that the whole car should be masked off and squirted with a new coat of paint, the grey primer patches on the car from the rust repairs ( not holes, just surface rust )look tacky, and try and find a paint match for a 43 year old paint, good luck.
if i can figure out how to start up a photo album , i'll post some before and after picks.
anyone else have any backyard paint tips they would like to share?
C`mon Chuck. Get the paint code for the car & call Peter or one of your buddys. www.woodyg.com just might have a listing for the codes. Maybe Bob at Utica collision can make the paint up. Call him @ 905-985-1122 & see what he says.

Chuck, check out my back yard paint job tomorrow before u throw out Al's advise!
Nothing better than a well done paint job by a skilled pro!
If your going to do it yourself try a low lustre colour like a semi gloss black or gray. The shiny paint show way too many defects in body work and paint application. I tried flat paint and found it too porous to keep clean. I would also try and find out if you can add a hardner to tremclad since it doesn't stand up to scratches as well as automotive paint.
Flame throwers?? I'm sure we could fig'r it out, spark plugs and such.
I'm going to need a set for the Mustang too. Can you look into getting a better price on 2, count `em, 2 sets?
The 8 inch in the 63 is a "One Wheel Peeler", 3.50, Original rear for that car. You want stripeS, then you got to change the center section.

P.S. Chuck.......Good Gravy Man !!!!!!!!!!!! Leave Tammys' vacuum cleaner alone !!!!!!!!!!!!
i've got the Jesse James iron cross for the hood, and the thrush stickers for the vent windows, wait this gives me an idea, how about everyone bring there old stickers from intakes, tire manufacturers, car parts they have sitting around and we try to cover the whole car at the meet,( no dollar store knock offs, real 60's and 70's one they put in the boxes with your new parts) that way i don't have to paint it, and AL won't be upset with the runs . muhahahahaha.....
big daddy chuck
if we must , i'll let everyone put trip stickers on the rear , like i've actually been there.
Loose the tall tires on the back & put nice short ones on to give you an effective rear gear ratio around 410 or better. The converter is stock stall, so it won't help as much as short tires for the wake-up call.
