hang around man you will find we help each other big time. a plumber where were you last month when i needed one? just busting thats some thing i hope i don't need for a while again, new boiler last fall ouch welmclean type.
it's not only timeing that gets moved up with a tuner there can be many other viables used ,and it possible to tune a motor and still run 87 gas. this is why the the excalabrator2 custom tuned is the best for a gas ford motor.
plug and play units work but with universally used tunes .that cause you to need high blends of gas
The SCT switch-chip is nice as well, that's what I'm currently using. Nice thing about using the chip is that I currently have three tunes available to me at the turn of a dial. Got one for cooler days that's leaned out a little and running a little more timing and have another for nasty hot days and one for towing as well. The chip is awesome! One other nice feature of the switch-chip is that there is a position on the switch that you can set to be used as a security feature. Again, with the turn of the dial you can set the chip to disable starting of the vehicle. You can sit there and turn the key all day long and it won't start.
i wholely agree about the products from SCTFLASH and how well they work with the ford product. and now that they have added gm i wonder how well that will be. i have access to the advantage 3 software and man talk about a product that shines thats sct and the whole group of men and ladies in there. top rate all the way.
I would like to get the SCT but I am concerned about the cost of it since it appears to me that your truck has to be put on a Dyno in order to program it. Is that correct?
yes it has many time as we have access to one when needed .
but as to a sct tuner it need not be a dyno tuned one, contact this sites web master and get one loaded with his own v10 custom tunes then watch out. ken has some great ones he's done up. now i'm talking the 9400 excal2 custom unit not the 9415b one with universal one fits all tunes. and motorheaven has a you can beat it price. just under stand the custom one takes them a little more time to ship out as it has to be loaded up custom.
I spoke with Gregg Evans from Factory Tech Transmissions last week, the designer of the Monster Box (4R100) and he told me that he is getting ready to release the 5R110 "Torque Monster". That thing is going to be rated at being able to handle 2000 ft lbs of flywheel torque, that's a strong tranny.
