Okay, went to the store everything drove fine. Started fine, but when I shifted into drive, the shift lever went all the way to low gear. When I moved it back to Drive, it felt as if there was no resistance until it got to Drive and then would not go any further. I decided to leave it like that since itwas in Drive, and I needed to get home. It drove fine, shifted like normal as well, yet when I got home it still would not shift into Park. I am unable to get the key out since it is still in drive, but it is at least turned off. Any suggestions?
crwal under and see if any thing is jambed in the likage on the trucks left side .there is not much inside that could cause the shifter not to move back into park. could also be the shifter cable it self .
Thanks. I did crawl under the vehicle and was able to put the vehicle into park, and I cannot see anything blocking the linkage. I had my wife move the shift handle, but I did not see the cable move at all. Looks like it may be the cable.
Okay it looks like the steering column shift tube has broken. Does anyone know what one of these cost, and does this require the replacement of the column itself, or can you just get the parts?
i wish i knew and could help you . the tube it self may be ok and just the lever it self snaped either way it 's dealer/shop time to pull the assembly apart due to the tools needed to do the job.
the tube assembly comes out and apart. every thing looks like it goes to inside the car first after the wheel and air bag come off. seems like it's not a drive way job to me.
wish i could help better

Had it towed to the dealership this morning. The service manager seemed to know exactly what it was, told me that they would have it fixed today, and that it would be under $200. Makes me happy!
