And more vacuum madness :D

The Front most Port on the carb, on the passenger side. #3 on the diagram, goes to the 4th Vacuum control switch (VCS) one of four on the back of the engine, color coded Brown.

------

Engine tempurature sensor system.

#1 The Top Port of the BROWN Ported Vacuum switch, the top line splits into two lines. One goes to the third VCS color coded purple, and the other goes to the bottom most port on the white TVS on the air cleaner, where it vacuume tees with the manifold vacuum that tees into the EGR lines, I mentioned in my first post.

#2 The Middle Port on the Brown Ported vacuum switch goes to the 1st. (VCS) color coded red.

#3 The bottom port is open to atmosphere, and is protected by a vacuum Filter. (FLTR) on the diagram.

--------------------

THERMACTOR SYSTEM:

#1: The Top Port of the White TVS on the air cleaner goes through a (VRDV) Vacuum Retard Delay Valve, color coded WHITE/RED, then inline it goes through a (VRESSER) Vacuum Resivoir, that a black plastic
cylinder. From there it splits off with a vacuum tee, and one line goes to the TAB Solenoid, and the other goes to the TAD solenoid's, bottom ports.

#2: Top port of the TAB Solenoid. ABREV: (SOL-V) on diagram goes to the (ACV), Air control valves rear valve port.

#3 Top Port of the TAD Solenoid (SOL-V) goes to the side (ACV) port, located right across from the two. (SOL-V) TAB, and TAD valves.

----------

AIR CLEANER HEAT RISER DOOR:

From manifold vacuum, the line goes to the (A/CL BI MET) Air cleaner bi-metalic sensor, located on the bottom of the cleaner. Another line goes from the (A/CL BI MET) to a (TVS) Thermal Vacuum switch color coded blue located on the side of the air cleaner. From there the line goes to the (A/CL-DV) Air cleaner door valve, located on the air cleaner snorkel.

------------

I will do the PCV and Canaster purge system, tomorrow. Should be the last of it.

Hope this helps

You are the man! Thanks a million for all the help. If you don't mind doing that last section, I'd be greatly appreciative. Also, if you look in my gallery, there is a pic of me holding a part. I don't remember where it goes. If you could be so kind as to explain that thing to me, I'll send you an 18pack of your favorite beer! Thanks again for all the help.

You will have to post the picture in the thread here using the forum codes.

My browser shrinks pictures down to thumbnails and i cant tell what I'm looking at otherwise.

------------------

PCV and Canaster Purge System.

#1: One or two lines from the gas tanks (If dual tanks two etc) hooks up to the small port on the charcoal canaster located under the battery on the passenger side.

#2: The Large port on the Charcoal canaster goes toward the carberator. Before it gets there it tees off. The larger line goes to a Thermostatic Vacuum Valve. Color Coded White/Green, and then continues to the Carb's Bowl vent port. (BV) on the diagram.

#3: From the small port on the tee, the line goes to the (CPRV) Canaster Purge Valve, and from there goes to the small top port of the PCV Valve.

#4: the bottom port of the PCV valve, goes to manifold vacuum on the passenger side of the engine, where there is a large port sticking out of the intake, or carb spacer. There should be a long thing with vacuum ports screwed into the intake manifold near here. Plug the brake booster line into one of the ports. The other small lines going to manifold vacuum mentioned in earlier posts also plug in around here.

====================

That's about all that I can think of on vacuum lines on this truck, unless it has A/C, then there are other vacuum lines to contend with. Most plug into the long thing with vacuum ports screwed into the intake manifold mentioned earlier, and spread off to another 4 way vacuum tee. But beyond that I don't know on the a/c system. If no a/c the ports are plugged off or capped. etc...

Hope this helps.

Post the picture, and I'll be happy to tell you about the part.

Also, in one of the pics of your carbuerator, there is a red hose coming off of the passenger side of the carb. Where does that terminate? I just found that hose laying on my garage floor. I think I found a hole on the manifold, but I'm not certain that it is where the tube belongs.

That is part of the choke heat riser. There should be a seperate metal tube along with that, that has some odd bends and shapes, with a nickle sized orifice fitting and it hooks into a nickle sized hole at the bottom of the exaust manifold.

Just above the bottom nickle sized hole on the top of the exaust manifold is a small hole just about a "half" smaller than the size of a pencil. This is where the choke heat riser tube comes out and threads into the side or the carb. next to the choke on the passenger side.

The Red rubber hose and metal tube is the cold air being sucked from the air horn of the carb to the bottom of the exaust manifold, and the other end is on top of the exaust manifold, continues to the choke heat riser connection to complete it's circut.

---------

About the picture, I cant see it cause my browser will not let the picture be big enough, for me to see in the galleries unfortunately.

Is the part electical or mechanical?

I think it's the spark retard solenoid, but cannot tell. If it is, it will be yellow on the bottom with two ports coming off. there will be an inverted "D" electrical connection on the side. And a little white cap on top. It hooks to one of the valve cover bolts with a special bolt that has two sized threads on it. one part bolts into the valve cover and the other part of the threads sticks above the bolt where the solenoid attaches, with a nut.

It should be placed on the valve cover bolts location, just under the 4 vacuum switches location.

If it is a metallic cylindrical device with a green plug, and wires on one side, and a vacuum port on top with two ports going in each direction. It will have an arrow and the word carb on top. That is the Canaster Purge solenoid. It's location it fits into a round bracket that is hooked to the valve cover. Where the electrical line can plug in.

Hope this helps.
