I bought a new 22 piece Cab/Frame bushing kit from LMC Truck to mount the cab back on the frame of my 48 F1 (Part No. 40-0110). The kit has no instructions, or blow-up drawing showing the proper position and sequence of the rubber and metal bushing parts. The cab has been off a long time, and I don't remember much about the old mounting parts.
There are four round rubber bushings with washers, that I believe go on the forward-most mounting points, but I dont know the stacking sequence. There are four rectangular rubber pads with metal shims that probably go with the mounting bolts inside the cab, in the front corners-but I need to know the stacking sequence of them also, if that is where they go. There are two thicker strange shapped rubber blocks that I can't find a place for, and four short rubber tubes that I have no idea where the go. Any help would be appreciated (an email sketch would be great). I called LMC, but they were not able to give me any information. I emailed Dennis Carpenter since he sells the same type of bushings ( I think LMC's are really Carpenter's), but I haven't heard from him yet. Thanks, Bob
Bob, the short tubes are the repair bushings for the rear mounting "arms" and I think the blocks you are describing go in the frame mounts for the rear arms. If you have a Carpenter catalog, they have a diagram that shos how the bushings are placed. Oops, my catalog is a 2002 so yours may be different.
Thanks mechmagcn, I went back to the Dennis Carpenter site and looked again. If you just look at the parts on-line the catalog doesn't show the bushing placement, but if you download the catalog to your computer in PDF format there is a wealth of information available (including the placement of all of the cab to frame bushings). Maybe this information will be usefull to others also.
