LAST EDITED ON 31-Jul-01 AT 08:49 PM (EST)[p]Well everybody i'm having to start drive my truck again. I am fixing some problems i was having when i stopped driving it. About 2 months ago I put on edelbrocks performer intake w/ a 600 carb. Couple days later i was racing a chevy and off the line it made a loud pop like it backfired. Now it hesitates real bad of the line. I can't even chirp the tires where before i could leave 75 ft of rubber w/o using any brakes. I am thinking that the acc. pump went out or something. What do you guys think. O and it does not pop off the line it just popped that one time. I want to get this fixed so no chevys beat me in a race.
Thanks
Richard
If its a carter/weber/edelbrock carb, you have it way too lean!!! Get some metering rods, try going 2-3 steps leaner ,and you'll be able to set down 100ft or rubber if thats your thing..
I also changed the needle/seat assembly from .111" to .121" for faster filling of the bowls. I have a carter 625 (which of course is a weber, also called an edelbrock)I have had it 2 years and they are so simple to work on.The carter street kits have all the metering rods, springs you need, and you dont have to remove carb to change them**and they interchange with edelbrock/weber/carter
HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
