just got an FE intake to put on my 360, casting # C4SE9425.
Has what looks like a road draft fittting at the rear center and an extra 1.5" hole top front by the temp gauge spot. Think I can seal that with a freeze plug. It also isn't drilled/tapped for coil hold down to the right of distributor. Got an edelbrock
600 cfm to put on a while back, figure it should be a decent combo with the RV cam already installed. Appreciate any thoughts, thanks.
I have the same set up on my 66 truck with a 390 and a 600cfm Holley. works out perfect. the castings I were told are from a 64 t-Bird. The hole next to the temp hole mine has nothing in it and it did not go into the intake ports. If you are talking about the hole by the number 1 piston it is for putting in oil on the motor when there is no way to go in the valve covers.
Have the same intake on my truck, came of a 64 t-bird. Single Plane run of the mill FE intake, nothing special about it except that its better then a 2-barrell. I also have that road draft tube thing at the rear of the intake, I would plug it, and just run a standard PCV setup, the draft tube does little to release the vapors from the engine, and dumps harmful fumes into the atmosphere, which is fine, but itll never pass emissions inspection.
Have not got around to plugging mine yet, I dont think ill ever bother since my truck is emissions inspection exempt.
Also, I had the same problem with my coil, so I moved the coil to the front of the drivers side head, there are two unused tapped holes there, the bolt that holds down the coil on the old intake threads right into the hole in the head, very nice.
Also am running a 600cfm Holley Vac Sec on a rebuilt 352FE, the engine, including the intake, work great.

Thanks for the info, both help solve problems. Setting up that oil fill hole to function sounds cool. Will keep my pcv valve in the valve cover and block off the road draft. I'm emission exempt here too, but rather do my bit to breathe. Really appreciate the knowledge and help.
