racer, you're right. i honestly don't know much about the a/c system; however, in the chiltons manual for the vehicle (7.3l Powerstroke), it illustrates the "low" side in which you should utilize. so, that's what i used.
howdy ya'll just got back from 3000 mile trip to colorado and back to texas. here a a/c update! no one it the back was yelling i'm hot plenty it too damn cold back here. so i guess my adjustments i made on my pressures was in the ball park. i purchased my x back in december of 05, so i didn't have the heat to check the performance of the system until texas heat came on. i found that i had to blend to warm air from heater to keep front evaporator from icing up but the rear worked perfectly all the time. this primarily happened up in the mountains and i believe it was due to the lack of humidity and altitude! over all comfortable all the way! rule of thumb on a/c performance is take whatever your ambient temperature(outside temp) and if you a/c temp coming out of the vents are 30- 40 degrees cooler your operating the system at maxium performance but when it is right you'll see temps alot cooler just make sure your not icing the lines too thick!
