Do the heads from the 04 and up work with the 03 and down 5.4's?
just curious if so and if they do...is there mods that have to be done on them to make them work?
Also...is there any aftermarket heads out yet to modify these trucks performance.....?
I was just reading up on all the different 5.4 motors and some of them must be able to be swapped....I can't see why not...does anyone know about this stuff?..I am interested in trying out new heads and getting more power...2 valves never impressed me much anyways...lol

Sorry, the two cannot be interchanged. It would not only be a huge pain, but there is something that prevents the two from switching. I believe it's bolt patterns on the heads being different.
those basstardss...lol
well are there any aftermarket heads or are we stuck with having the plug spitters?...all these threads are worrying me and i also know that with the old 5.0 you can get an easy 50hp from a head replacement from stock...I was hopin there would be somethin to do for our trucks...

nope the heads do not interchang but there is 2 5.4 heads .the standard head and the PI head [power improved ] yours should have the pi heads I cant remember for shure but i think that came out in 99 or 2000 as far as flow goes I have read that the pi heads flow very good as far as plug spiting Lisle
I actually haven't spit a plug yet...and hope I don't but I am hungry for power....and think before supercharging....you have to upgrade the engine's parts first....you would thnk by now there would be an aftermarket head made by edelbrock or someone....? did they forget our trucks exist?
You can get a few aftermarket superchargers without having to change any internals of your motor, they will have a lower boost numbers to prevent breakage, I'm thinking around the 6psi mark, any more wouldn't be recommended unless you have a lightning engine, but their internals are alot stronger than your average modular motor.
