is it do able?

so i just came up with the thought of ditchin the 2v heads on my 99 5.4 and putting either 3 or 4v heads on it. my question is would it work?

Why?
For the price of doing that swap, you could just have your 2V heads ported and they would flow just as much.

i was think so it would open it up more and i was thinkin of getting new heads anyways but that isnt a bad idea to just port and polish them

They will bolt to the block. Other than that, nothing will interchange from the ecm/harness to intake and exhaust manifolds. Might look into some Trickflow or Patriot 2V heads.

I think the 3v heads will fit but unsure of the 4v ones - I thought that was a different block (I think that's what was implied on that statement but I'm not sure). By the time you go through all that cost, might be more cost effective to find a newer used engine and ecm, at least cost it out to be sure.

Just some thoughts.

ive been lookin at some trickflow ones on modmax.com along with some other stuff. thinkin of investing in a .030 bored block since there pretty cheap. not sure exactly what im goin to do but i want to really wake my truck up plus im looin into some 38x14.5 toyo mt's an new 16" rims

Yes it will work. I have alot of experience when it comes to the 5.4.

Im interested on seeing someone bolting trickflows on their n/a 5.4 trucks, never hear or read of it done before..
