[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-Dec-02 AT 06:24 PM (EST)]I think you are being lied to! I had a firm price, and that was EXACTLY what I paid, and not a penny more. I am sorry, but I would NOT trust a dealer that won't give you a firm price!
My friend, you are being fed a line of s***. I've been a Ford dealer for a NUMBER of years, and the DORA (Dealer ORder Acknowledgement) is not necessary to provide you with a firm price. The order is entered on the CONCEPS system, and that will IMMEDIATELY give the dealer the EXACT price at which they can order it. Please, PLEASE find another dealer that can confirm what I'm talking about. I'd order the truck for you, but I'm not yet a sponsor of this site (hopefully SOON, with a not-so-subtle hint to the webmaster), so they get upset with me when I suggest such things. There REALLY are dealers out there that will order this vehicle for you at an EXACT price, with absolutely NO DEPOSIT whatsoever. You're just going to have to trust that I know what I'm talking about. FIND ANOTHER DEALER!!!!!!!
When I ordered my new 03 truck last Nov. The dealer gave me a printout listing all the details of my order and a not to exceed quote contingent on whatever incentive or factory rebate that will be in effect when I take possesion of the truck. I gave him a 1000.00 deposit on a vehicle with MSRP around 39K. Its a lariet 250 CC V-10< auto, mn rf,4X4,2 tone,leather,FX4,few other bells n whistles printout shows dealer invoice and MSRP. I would never commit to any deal without at least a NTE quote. If you do then you only got yourself to thank.
