I have a 94 F150 with a remanufactured 302 (5.0) engine with about 10,000 miles on it. The engine runs and drives fine. The problem is when idling in park or at a stop sign it skips or flutters every second or two. I can feel it on the steering wheel. In a way it sounds/feels like a spit from the exhaust. I can barely hear it in the motor under the hood but can easily hear/feel it from the exhaust.
Is this a vacuum issue, fuel issue, spark plug issue, exhaust issue? I have checked the vacuum lines and can't seem to find a leak. The plugs and wires were replaced with the engine. There is an exhaust leak behind the cat's and before the muffler, but I wasn't thinking that would be the problem.
I just bought a 92 and it did the same thing at start up. I cleaned the IAC and the problem went away. It did it again the other day though so maybe I'll clean it again.
There are no engine lights on. I haven't checked it with a code reader. I will check and clean the IAC and see if that works. I haven't worked with that part before so hopefully I can find it and figure out how to clean it.
