Question

Noise under Load

I was pulling 14k 5th wheel up the mountains and under load, about 25 boost,
1200 ET and I hear a noise like a rattle when at giving it more on the throttle.
When I let off it goes await. No notice of lost power just the rattle noise.
Any body run across this ? I am hoping not turbo problems!

1999 F350 Preditor,4in exhaust,3 guages,shift kit, exhaust brake,Tran lock.

What RPM, gear?
Perhaps your stocker intake wheel was stalling? Mine would with just a stock tune pulling that kind of weight, never mind having the Tow/haul mode loaded in.

Is what you call a rattle a slow rattle or a quick one? Could be like kwik said, just a turbo stalling under load.

Same thing as turbo flutter that the WW or ATS housings cure.

Turbo Flutter

RPM around 2200 to 2600. What is the fix for Turbo Flutter? About How much is the cost. It was also in 3rd out of O/D......
