When I started to drive home from work today, the truck did not seem to run right (my 97). The more I drove the more it ran worse. I drove about 30 miles and just about got home. After it cooled down I started looking around and found the EBPV stuck shut. I got it disconnected and open. Did this do any damage of any kind? Could it have damaged the trans in any way? With it open, it starts and runs ok. Thanks for any help.
It only restricts the exhaust gas flow to aid in engine warm up. It should not have caused any damage to anything. I have known several poeple that have driven several weeks with them stuck closed and complained of no power and a whistling sound. We just unplugged them and opened them.
Thanks for the replies. It does not have a gauge, but I will have one on in a few days.
It seemed to run ok last night. I took it out for about an hour. It had it's normal power back, which is not great to start with. It's an E series. I will keep a check on the oil and blow by.
