NP435 Swap

I just recently bought a '72 250. Right now I also have a '85 250 with a NP435 that i would like to swap in the '72. The '72 has a 360 FE series engine. I was wondering about bellhousings. The 85 NP435 uses the windsor bellhousing-what bellhousing did the FE series engines use or is this gonna be a direct fit? Haven't pulled either trannys out yet so...

The Fe bellhousing is unique to FE engines; it won't fit anything else.
Look for one behind a 352, 360 or 390 in trucks '65 - '76.

That new of an NP435 has a different size input bearing housing, I'm not sure if it'll fit the older bellhousing properly. I think it changed in 74 or 75, you might want to ask in the transmission forum as to what year bell housing you can use with that tranny.

I just put an NP435 that came off of a 360 on my 240. Bolted right up. Or did you mean the bellhousing attaching to the motor?
