The PO of my truck yanked the old nuetral safety switch and must have cut off the connector and butt connected the wires together so it would start - I have no idea what he did with the reverse lights.
I am now trying to put it back together. I have the new safety switch installed. In the Wiring Diagram Manual for a '68 it shows the safety switch on the transmission page but it shows a "back-up lamp switch" on the "Rear Lights" page. Is there really a separate switch for the reverse lights?
Both are combined in one unit on the column- there should be a four pin trailer plug under the dash, that is where the switch originally plugged into. Two wires are for the neutral safety, the other two are the reverse lights. On my truck, the two for the safety were the red/dark stripe wires.
