A friend and I just finished installing the fatman dropped spindles on my Volare front susp.
In my case it was a little more involved then just a simple bolt in.
Had to grind the caliper mounting bracket like they said but then we had to grind about 3/32 off of the outside surface next to the rotor so the rotor would turn.
Then we had to remove approx 1/4 off of the length of there spindle to steering arm bolts it was hitting the torsion bar mounts, preventing a full lock to lock turn.
Finally the brake hose had to be moved to miss the ball joint stud.
They only cost $505.00 plus shipping. Why would I think they would bolt in with no problems?

my running board front edge is 4 inches off the ground at ride height, with 15in wheels.. will be going to 17's or 18's in the front.. so that will raise me up 1-1.5 inches. plus tire height.. so I want the 2 inches back.

The big deal at the moment is trying to get it somewhat level from side to side
Maybe it will have some suspension travel this time while remaining low. I have P215/70R15 on the front.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Did have my usual fun at the shop. The mechanic said truck was done but the driveshaft must be hitting something. I thought perhaps it was rubbing the muffler (new driveshaft is 1 inch larger dia) anyway I started the truck backed it up stopped it, got the mechanic and ask him to look at the rotors.
As my luck seems to go when he moved the upper arm outboard it tipped the rotor into the lower control arm and it was rubbing (more like grinding) the rotor (you would think he would have noticed that before he scored my rotors).

Showed him how I wanted it fixed, he did that and then charged me a extra $20.00. Nice !

It would have been a good idea for whom ever designed these spindles to think about mfg tolerances. Anyway truck now rides good as well as looking good (new wide whites with old's style full hubcaps)
