4.2 oil pressure

what should the 4.2 oil pressure be

40-60 psi at 2500 rpm,engine hot
no less then 15-20 psi at idle

hi, i have run a oil pressure gauge for 1 year and it confirms that the oil pump being gear driven changes with the revs and is not at a constant. idle as low as 10psi hot and 65psi cold at anything above 2700revs. anything below 7psi the oil light comes on and thats spells trouble.
