help on 4.2 oil pan removal

I have a 1998 f-150 2 Wd with a 4.2l and stantard tran. Anyone have a better way to remove the oil pan other than revoing the engine? I am have oil pressure problems and want to clean the pick up.

not sure about a 4.2 but i have been to with the 351 you can loosen the motor mounts and jack the motor up until you have enough clearance to drop the pan and slide it out.

hi, some one might know of a way but i just cannot see how it is posable. there is no gasket on the sump its only sealant and it is a tricky job on the engine cradle due to the few seconds you have to get face to face before sealant fails.
a machanical gauge is the best way of checking oil pressure as the pressure switch some times gives fault.
check for antifreeze in the oil this also can flag-up a problem. good luck bokker.
