any one else testing vista beta 2 in here ? so far it's more stable then xp and works better. just wondering if and thoughts .
ive ben testing since the first ver. came out but man is this one better . even works on my underpowered laptop .
I heard it's wonderful from some of my tech buddies. I decided I didn't want to use it though. My logic is that if it spoils me, I won't want to go back to XP.
It's legal for download and use for one year, so don't worry fellas. You won't even be breaking the law.

Yeah what happens after a year? Do you then have to cough up $200.00?
microsoft has a web site for the public to down load it .and also purchase it plus rc1 when it come out as it was a 9 hour down load on a 1mb dsl connection.
wprks and spoils is not the phrase it's great.
After a year, I would assume it does the same thing that XP does when it is due for 'activation'. It lets you go to the log in screen, and will let you buy it for continued use, or... it'll remain locked out until then.

Sometimes software companies, even Microsoft, will offer a lower price to beta testers to make your key permanent. Usually they'll just charge the "upgrade" price in exchange for you helping them work out bugs.
My suggestion is that if you do not plan on purchasing Vista after the trial period expires, then you should install it on a seperate hard disk and dual boot your operating systems. That way you can always revert back to 2000 or XP should you get locked out of Vista. If you wanted to keep things simple, you could always import your profile from XP and point the My Documents folder to your XP or 2000 install so you wouldn't have to worry about transferring data at the last second.
word is no upgrade will be available for it. boot to the disc it clean installs, start from windows it up grades .
and yes the gui is that much different it is so clear it's like being there in person when you veiw photos . still some bugs to work out otherwise it's so much better and secure is not the word you would not beleive all the traps to go though.
