i bought a set of clearance for my truck (ford parts with ford harness) and wanted to know if anyone out there has installed these on their truck? i am a little nervious about drilling holes in the roof of my truck so if anyone out there has any advise i would love to hear about it. also where does the wiring harness connect to? thanks.
I installed them on my truck, see gallery, and had to go to the dealership and physically take exact measurements off a truck that had lights from the factory, as I wanted mine to be exact. I had no templet, so I had to make mine with my measurements, and I also ran my own wiring to tap into the running lights on the light ****. Measure 10 times and drill only once!! Lay the lights on the roof untill you know they are right and trace around them. You'll do fine!
The factory harness connects behind the passenger side kick panel down in the footwell. If you have an overhead console the harness will be different from the one without. I bought the harness without the overhead console just to get the correct connectors for the lights and made my own harness that ties into the dash switch.
Oh...and that nervousness you are feeling about drillng 15 holes into your perfectly good roof isn't going to go away until you're done. Take it slow and steady.
Hahaha, yes I can imagine that the hole drilling part is the hardest part. You should've seen me before I made the first cut with the grinder on my perfectly good bumpers for the backup lights. I'm sitting there with a grinder buzzing an inch from the bumper... waiting... steady hand... deeeeep breath, and EERRRREEEEEEECCCHHHH perfect bumper gets scorched. No stopping at that point... the point of no return.
PS - if you do a search on: +clearance +lights or "clearance lights" and narrow it to the Superduty section, you'll find quite a few posts on the very subject with lots of good info.
Yes, measure twice, thrice, however many times necessary to get the proper placement and it will go fine.
Also remember that if you still get a woopsie it's a simple task to fill it back in with a wire feed welder and paint. Little job like that at a bodyshop wouldn't be much at all.

This site has good pics and instructions. Hardest part is drilling the first hole !
Mine did not have the wiring harnnes, I tapped into the power wire for the highlights just behind the switch.
good luck
