Okay- I need driving- the Hella 550's-Bdox may fit- I guess I could also go with a round bumper bolt version. We have some dark road in northeast Fla... The lightforce look great- but ouch for the price... that would cut into my Edelbrock Performer intake manifold budget- but heck-ya1 those look good--- so, I;ve heard Hella and Lightforce-hmmmm driving lights is what I need

I have the 270's on my truck. Love them, bullet proof and man they light up the road. I can almost light up 1 mile of the road and I can reflect signs for a couple of miles. The HID reach out about the same but are a lot brighter. Of course they are also a lot more expensive.
Another option is get those cheap NAPA 4" or 6" tractor light that come in the rubber boot. Take out the existing bulb, throw on ground or smash with hammer, then purchase the 50 watt or even better the 100 watt, same size as housing, AIRCRAFT LANDING LIGHTS. Almost as bright as the lightforce and cheaper. I have them on my 4-wheeler and my neighbor hates it when I plow snow. They shine right into his bedroom.
Food for thought

I think you can trust Hella relays. Or if you are talking about replacing the factory relay it's probably ok too. Just turn on the lights and check the voltage at the light plug. If it reads the same as the battery, don't bother.
The commonly available Bosche relays are good.
