Loud Thump In Reverse
I have an 04 explorer XLT w/all wheel drive. Well whenever I was backing out of a parking spot today I had to used the gas to get out instead of the normal idle. Now when I stepped on it the AWD locked it and made a really loud thump I saw it shake the front of the vehicle thats how bad it was. Has anyone else had the same issue? Is this normal? I dont think it is, but I know jack about AWD systems and 4WD drive systems. Any help would be greatly appriciated. I don't want to take it to the dealer and get told its normal when its not since I'm not up to speed yet on this AWD system. Thanks in advance for everyones help.
