Hello everyone . I just found the site while searching for answer to my problem. I hate to start off with questions, but I really could use some help..
I have 2003 7.3 that has been acting strangely last 60 days. It kind of misses or for lack of better words..like someone cuts of ign. for split second & scares the hell out of you..I finally had the check engine light come on today & I checked the code & it is P0344. I beleive that is camshaft sensor isn't it? Should I just go ahead & replace it?
I found the thread on here on how to install new one..sounds simple enough, but I do have a question on install? You don't have to worry about positioning the new sensor in any way like I used to have to do with my old Mustangs? Just bolt in and done?
Thanks for any & all help & again glad to find your guys & gals
If you can wait a couple of days for delivery, the cheapest source for a new, factory-wrapped, CPS will be from e-bay. Somewhere around $50-$60 if you exercise Buy-It-Now.
I think the black is the Ford replacement and the blue is the International replacement. Do a search for "blue cps" and see the different opinions on both.
The above poster is right the blue is for a different engine and some claim when used in our engine that they gain 5 mpg, 25 psi of boost, 75 ftlbs of torque, and shaves 1.2 sec off the 1/4 mile.
