One last time, cause I'm still confused..
No more Mercon, is all dual rated ?? Right ??
So my options are use the dual rated or go to synthic ?????
And going with syn. How do you no they are not dual rated and why haven't they changed or will they ??
IMHP the safest way is to go to BTS and have him do his magic.. But I can't afford that and I can't afford to use dual rated and suffer a break down....
Ditto here. I can still get some of the old Mercon here but it is getting low. What was the final consensus on the new stuff? Should I just buy the old and keep for when I get ready to go into the tranny soon? JT, what did BTS put into your tranny?
Advance Auto parts had tons of gallon Mercon jugs @ $7.50ea. so i stocked up for now.
Brian @BTS uses the Schaeffers products.
If u want to switch have your tranny completely drained
by one of those machine at Stealerships and change to Mercon V.
Nut
Mobil One no longer sells just the Mercon but there are lots of other manufacturers selling Dextron III / Mercon rated fluid, no need to go synthetic unless you are seeing warm temps. I sure won't spend the extra cash again, but I no longer see tranny temps above 160.
