2001 F150 Supercrew (Vibration)
I posted this in another area and relized it was in the wrong place. Anyway I have a vibration (short in duration) when I excelerate from a stopped position. It can really be felt when I turn usually to the left more than the right, but both ways. The vibration goes away shortly after I have made it to around 10 mph maybe quicker. Any ideas on what it could be?
Thanks

normally vibration or "wiggle" occurs on these trucks when turning or decelerating. the two most common causes are lower ball joints and the idler arm anchor to the frame in the middle in front of the motor. to check the ball joints, jack up on tire 2 inches off the ground with a jack under the A frame. with no weight on the tire, you can now stick a 4 ft long 2 x 4 under the tire and pry it up and down. you are lifting the tire and upper A-frame. see how much clearance there is in the lower ball joint. with the tire still off the ground, grab the front and back and pull- push in a turning motion. have your buddy lay under the radiator area and see the steering links move. the other tire is on the ground and it will not move. see where the slop in the linkage is that allows one side to move backa nd forth with the other tire firm on the ground. the idler bolted to the frame is a likely spot.

I have the exact same issue.
I've got a 2002 Supercrew and have been experiencing the exact same problem. Have you had any luck with figuring out the problem? A mechanic friend of mine climbed underneath and suggested it may be tranny mounts are cracked or possibly ball joints, but didn't feel to much movement there. Can you let me know what you find please,
Thanks.
Thanks.
