Ok...so heres the situation - have a 1998 Ford F-150 4x4 XLT V.8 Triton 4.6L with a 3:55 rear truck. I am trying to find out what shocks will work the best - just found out the original shocks are still on it! (we purchased it used a few years ago) and until recently it was riding pretty good. We recently purchased and now tow a 28 ft RV with it and I feel EVERY LITTLE BUMP in the road - time for new shocks since these are now dead apparently.
I need something for comfort..but that will withstand towing and a tongue weight of about 500 lbs so as when we're towing the RV - it wont bog it down (we have an equalizer hitch w/wd system as well but it still needs shocks).
I've looked at Monroe...KYB...Motocraft and all the others..and am just as confused now as I ever was before.
I would suggest Monroe, the only problem is they have quite a few choices.I've always used to Magnum (but it might be a stiff for you when not towing).I'd say either the Reflex or Sensa-Trac would work.
