Box Rails Replacement

Any of you guys out there purchased new replacement box rails for your pickup? I have damaged one of mine and was wondering what they would cost and how could you replace them yourself.

Thanks Dex.

They snap on. Look under the bed rail and you will see that there are holes everywhere in the metal of the bedrail. You may even be able to see it if you lay in the bed face up.

i dont know how much they cost but i had to take them out to install my bedrug. you just squeeze the clips and pull the rails up. easier with two people one to work on the clips and the other to lift it up. to put them back you just push and they snap into place.

Thanks Blitzen!

I was thinking I could even buff the scratched area out some how, save me from having to purchase new rails. Worth a try anyways.

I havent replaced any. I dont think you will be able to buff out any damage. It will burn and polish the plastic. It is worth a try because the worst thing is that you will have to buy them anyway.

i would use really fine sand paper and then something like back to black on all the pieces. it would match up well and im sure noone will notice. mine are pretty beat up so i dont even care about them anymore all they are there for is to protect the metal.

I talked with a guy over at Ford and he priced out a new one at $98 cdn. You can buy them seperate so that works out fairly well and the price is better then I thought. If ever a guy needs to sell his rig that has been used and abused he can buy a couple new rails and make it look a lot better.
