a NEW classification for FTE'rs !!!
What if a guy were to replace his stock front suspension with a new IFS, and then take it out and put in another one? Or what about a guy who paints his truck to look stock and then decides to paint flames on it only to repaint the flames and finally paint the truck back to stock? What would you call guys like that? Backsliders?
Darkgraybacksliders?
Jag (My favorite line from Starwars: Luke, I am your Fordor!!)
51 with no body mods (well yet), flathead motor, Reds Headers and "Smittys", manual Toyota box and tilt column, stock suspension but with reversed eyes all round and half the leaves out (w/teflon "slidey" stuff natch), dual ECGs (1 1/16" throat I believe), T5 feeding stock rear end with three ninety-two gears, iron heads ($$$ a problem) and stock cam (as yet), dual line master cylinder and booster for power ventilated drum brakes all round and doggone it it's STILL not running. But progress is being made and that keeps me happy!
John - regards the career change to safety coordinator and your search for the "competent person" designation. Sigh...BTDT for nearly 15 years now for an electric utility company. OSHA and many of the other regulatory agencies are familiar to me and you'll find that the compliance officers can be quite helpful if you get to know them - in the right circumstances of course!
Usually takes about 2 years to feel comfortable with all the regs. Document everything and if some work practice seems questionable stop and ask questions before going on...if I can help you in any way email me and I'll throw my two cents in the hat.
