Ok any way... today i was working on my 1968 f100 360cid and the wire connecting the distributor to the coil go grounded to my battery by a wire...(big mistake dont ask y) well, the wire basicly melted away and smoked when i tryed to start it. Then i went and got somemore wire from auto zone and put it in. it will just crank, but it wont turn over. Do i need a new coil? Or point.

This is a contradictory statement
Do you actually mean,
It will turn over/crank BUT, It won't start?

ok, the truck will not start.

If it touched the + side that explains the melt down
That wire coming out of the dist to the coil - is the Breaker wire and is the one that controls the spark and gets attached to the condensor. Touching that wire to Power + side would be BAD.
