My 2000 Ford F-250 4x4 is need of new shocks on the front extremely bad, so bad I need to get them done asap and cant wait on ordering them. I can jump onto my grille guard on the front (185lbs) and then jump off, and the truck will bounce up and down anywhere from 4-6 times after that.
but it is expected since i'm the second owner of the truck and it has 135K on the clock with the factory shocks. So the only shock avaiable through my local autoparts store with out ordering them are:
1) Gabriel Max Control shocks (suppose to be their top line) for 50 something bucks
2) the cheapest Monroe shock on the market (cant remember which one it was). for 30 something bucks
I know Gabriel shocks are not known lately for being quality items but is the Max Control line also junk too? I would rather have Bilsteins but these factory shocks are upon the edge of hazards to drive when a bump is taken (nothing wrong with the suspension just the shocks), so I need something rather quick.
I just put those exact same shocks on my truck.I was pleasantly surprised at there ride quality.I originally bought them in the same circumstancs as you did.But know I would buy them again.wheather I'm in a hurry or not.
