I have a 2004 F-150 Heritage reg cab long bed 2wd with the 4.2L in it. I am interested in installing the 3.5" spindle lift kit from Fabtech or the 3" spindle lift kit from Rough Country. I also will add 2" blocks in the rear. My thought is to run 285/75/R16 tires on 16x8 wheels. Overall I am looking for a level truck with a slightly increased ride height to clear bigger tires.
Does anyone have any experience with this setup or anything similar?
If so what backspacing did you use on your wheels? I have heard nothing larger than 4 5/8".
I have also heard that the front tires will stick out wider than the back with these kits, is this true?
I haven't done anything with the kits, but I still have the factory wheels on my truck and I run the 285-75 16's with no problems. Didn't need a lift. Although I would like to get one to run 35's.
