There are versions of XP that do not require activation.

Activation is *not* the issue here.

Do you know about the "tracert" command in Windows? It is an excellent tool for identifying where latency is in your connection. If you are pinging the router at 1ms, then the computer, card, cable, etc. are all fine.

It does not ask me a single thing when activating or when "registering" because this copy doesn't require it. It's Windows XP rebuilt, Here's the click.

I tried tracert and it was showing that there was a connection but anything that had to deal with tcp/ip was taking around 250ms to respond, and there were 8 places it had to go (not quite sure how to say that) and 5/8 (to google.com) were taking 250ms or more.

I did however install a new card and I'm writing this post from the computer right now. So I got it working! Yay!

8 hops is what you mean to say.

Can you copy & paste the results of the command?

Thanks for the word! Well since it's working now, it wouldn't make any difference. I could run a tracert now, but it would be pretty fast now that I installed the new card.
