I can turn the fan by hand, it does not spin, & I see no oil or grease from the top or from below. I used a water hose to clean out bugs so it does not bend the foils on the cooler but there were not very many of them. The fan is turning when it is running however; I did not think to check it when the temperature gauge was rising.
