You can also grab the knuckle inside each front tire and move it back and forth, alot of times that will force the hub loose. They are easy to service and if they are sticking, I would take them apart and put on a new fresh light coat of grease on them.

By the way, when mine went, they wouldn't stay engaged some of the time after the initial vacuum pulse, the internal toggle lock/unlock thingy was worn. Not to confuse anyone.
