My Next Car

Well, on July 6th, my 04 F-150 goes back with the lease being up. I've decided to go back to a car and my choice is the Ford Fusion. I really wanted a Lincoln Zephyr but, it might be a little pricey for us and my wife would prefer going the cheapest route of the three similar vehicles, Fusion, Milan and, Zephyr. I like the looks of all three. Each of them has a nice look to them. One of my sons just got a new Fusion and after driving it, I really like it. It has a nice ride, decent handling, comfortable interior and it comes pretty loaded with standard equipment. My sons is an SE model, I-4 engine and comes standard with PS, PB, PW, PDL, Power Drivers Seat, Air, Tilt/Telescope Steering Wheel, SPD Control, Audio Controls on the steering wheel, 6 Cup Holders and other stuff. The only options he got were 5 spd auto, SE Sport PKG which includes 16.5 in. wheels, fog lamps and, AM/FM MP3 6 Disc Changer with 6 spkrs. His total MSRP was $19,800. I forget waht Z-Plan price was. Around $18,000, I think or a bit less. Myself, I'm thinking of getting the SE model but, would rather get the SEL, we'll see. And I will get the V-6, not the I-4. I want the extra power and the mileage ratings aren't much different. Right now, the color I'm looking at is, Tungsten Silver, which is a dark metallic gray that under certain light angles looks to have a hint of purple in it. My wife prefers black but, the kid got black and I'm not a black car lover. We'll see.

I've PDI'd a couple white Fusions and I think they look really sharp. My second choice would be the silver.

The fusion is bad to the bone, I like the black ones. They must be a big seller for ford, the roads around here are full of them in all 3 variations, the ford, merc, and linclon, and they haven't even been out that long.

BULLETIN BULLETIN BULLETIN

Here is a bulletin, bulletin, bulletin. Today is the day I get my new Fusion. I decided to get it a month early since the $1,000 rebate ended yesterday. No new incentives for lesees. So, the salesman and me got together yesterday got all the paperwork going and I'll pick it up later this afternoon. A little change of course, though. Instead of getting the Tungsten Silver SE model, I'm getting a black on black SEL model. It's got five options, the SEL Premium Pkg, leather seats, heated front seats, antilock brakes and, the audiophile sound system. I was walking this morning and saw an SEL in black go by and it looked real good. Also getting the 17 in. wheels and tires and of course, the V-6. Time to say goodbye to my F-150. It's been a great truck. No problems whatsoever with it, except it drinks alot of gas. Might take it up and get one last wash for it. And that's the name of that story.

Ok, I got it and my wife and I drove over to my daughter-in-laws parents to show our grandson. He's only three but, loves cars and we took him for a little ride. He brought along his Batman and Robin figures and I asked him if the car looked like the Batmobile to him and he said, yeahhhhhh. My wife and I really like it so far. Nice, smooth, quiet ride, nimble handling and the V-6 seems to have good power. The leather seats are quite comfortable and will probably get better after they're broke in some. The audiophile sound system sounds pretty good and even though I'm not a big lover of black cars, I do like this one. In fact, ot counting mine or my sons, I must have counted at least 10 other black Fusions throughout the day. I think I made a good choice.
