I want to advance my timing just a bit(its at 10*BTDC now) first thing in the morning, but I dont have one of those dizzy wrenches handy. Should I go over to AutoZone or R&S and buy one so I ain't all pissed off and stuff early in the morning......or it is easy enough to get at with a 3/8 universal on a extension???
It is a 1/2 inch no?
If I recall correctly, it's a 1/2" bolt and you should be able to reach it with a 6" ext. or may a 3 and a six. I use that but the extension has a wobble end 'cause you kinda need it to be at a slight angle to get square on the head. Other than that, it's pretty straight forward. Of course, if you go buy the wrench, it will be that much easier.
No tool shopping for me.....and that dam AutoZone.....what a ***** hole. When I think how much money I could make with a place like that.....ah.
Anyhow......3/8 drive 6 point shallow 1/2" socket on a wobble extension did the job perfectly. I brought it all the way out to 14* BTDC.....but it was pinging too easy. It seemed to settle in nice at 12*, so thats where its at now. I will keep it there for a while and see if the ECU learns the new deal.....it does feel a bit stronger.
