trans fluid change

i just had my trans fully flushed and a new filter put in and special lube added cost 170.00 dollars does that sound about wright?

How did you have it "fully flushed"? What was the process? I'd like to have mine done as well but with synthetic fluid.

It's a little high, but not quite a rip-off. I typically pay about $150 for a flush of the E4OD.

thats what the shop told me i didnt ask what he met but ill try to find out. they added some type of lube that cost me 29.00 they said the fluid doesnt really lube the trams enough .

I'd worry about that "lube" that they added. The 4R100 takes Mercon only (not Mercon V). I understand that Mercon V has a lubricant in it that helps with shifting but that is not a good thing with the 4R100. I am by no means a tranny expert, so don't panic with my word, but I'd do some investigating. I had a shop put Mercon V in my tranny because the bottle said it was for Ford cars and trucks 1998 through current or something similar. My manual & dipstick both are marked "MERCON" I got the Mercon V out ASAP!!

yea that sounds about right, the lube stuff is just for extra protection but its worth it. We charge 199 for a trans service so 170 sounds good.
