is it rare
How much do you think it's worth?
My Point is:
It is Really Difficult to determine something's worth without being there and see what all it good, bad, great, lousy, needs work, already done, how much has been put into it.
It's darn near impossible.
Someone here could say Blue Book $125.00
someone else could say $500.00
" " " " $1000.00
and so on.
From what you mentioned about it, I would think at least $200.00

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
1968 F250s are not particularly rare. The 360 V8 is by far the most common V8 in 1968-1976 F series trucks, and it is worth $50-100 in running condition. Therefore, having an 1968 F250 with a 360 V8 isn't anything that most people are going to get excited about (the 390 V8 is the desirable engine, but even it isn't particularly rare). The stepsides are less common that the fleetsides, but again lots of them were built.
How much is it worth? Value is dependent on how much other people want it, and what their alternatives are. If lots of people want it, and there are very few around, the market value will tend to be high. If something is relatively common, or few people want it despite it scarcity, then the market value will tend to be low.
In your case, don't expect it to be "worth" a lot. If you listed it for sale without any further details, you wouldn't generate any interest in it. Now, if it is in near-mint condition, has some rare options, etc., it could bring as much as $4-5,000. If it is a base trim line, however, has no rare options, and has the wear and tear you would expect on a 34 year old work truck, you'd be lucky to get much over $500 for it.

What you have sounds like a typical farm or work truck. Assuming it's the one with the frozen wheel that you dragged out of the field with a tractor, the only way you're going to get any money out of it would be to part it out. The motor and trans might fetch some bucks, and the sheet metal will, too, assuming it is in good condition. Otherwise, you'll have to pay someone to take it off your hands.
1. Is it rare? Yes it is. I would say, without proof, but with much confidence that in that model year there were less F-250 long bed stepsides produced that ANY other body style.
2. How much is it worth RESTORED? This is difficult to answer. Just because it is the rarest doesn't mean it's the most desireable. It also depends on what YOUR idea of restored is. It is MY OPINION that your truck would be worth $3000-$4500 restored depending on the level of restoration. Maybe more if you had the right buyer and it was truly SHOW QUALITY.

that is what I have found out.... some trucks sell for more in certain areas of the country than they do in other parts......
Come to the South and you can get a pretty penny for a nice looking older truck...
