EGR - where does it hook up?
I am wondering if I have the EGR trigger vacuum hooked up correctly.
On my engine, the EGR has a spacer between the carb and the intake, and vacuum causes EGR to kick in, opening up for exhaust gas to go into intake.
What I am wondering is, where to hook up the EGR vacuum trigger. I think EGR is supposed to kick in during low to medium accelleration, then cut back out for high accelleration.
Would that mean you hook it up to "spark" on the carb, or should there be a separate hookup for it?
I'm just not sure what is goin on, because right now I have it hooked to spark, along with my vacuum advance (using a T connector) and the engine is having problems, I wondered if EGR is part of it.
Also my carb has 2 connetions that I do not know what they are for. I am using the connection on the passenger side for spark, I think that is spark, but there is also a connection on the front driver side corner that is unknown to me, and there is also a small nipple on the BACk of the carb (next to the PCV hookup) and this small nipple doesn't seem to ever be pulling vacuum.
I bet my carb is somehow hooked up wrong... in fact I think I need to pull it and try to figure out what all these connections are FOR...
BTW I think the carb is a Motorcraft 2150, 351 CFM, but the tag is lost so I can't be sure which carb it is.
